Compressor parts guide

Air Compressor Filters & Separators

Understand the filters and separators that protect compressor components and help maintain air quality, then shop the right service part by number or application.

What matters

A practical guide to choosing the right part

Protect the compressor first

Intake air filters keep airborne debris out of the machine. Oil filters help remove contaminants from circulating lubricant, while air/oil separators return oil to the system and help keep carryover out of the compressed-air stream. Each part does a different job, so the right number and dimensions matter more than a similar-looking photo.

Clean the air and manage condensate

Downstream inline elements address particles, oil aerosol, or moisture according to their grade and location. Oil/water separators treat collected condensate before disposal; they are not a substitute for inline air filtration. Check the equipment model, current part number, service interval, and element size before ordering.
